Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has become the center of attention in the NFL thanks to Taylor Swift, but Aaron Rodgers appears to know him for a different reason, as the four-time MVP referred to Kelce as "Mr. Pfizer."
The New York Jets quarterback, who was in attendance for the Chiefs-Jets matchup on Sunday as rehabs from a torn Achilles, was seen chatting with Patrick Mahomes and Kelce on the fielder prior to Kansas City's win. On his weekly appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show," Rodgers was asked about his team's performance in the three-point loss, and that's when he appeared to take a subtle jab at Kelce.
"There's some sentiment that there's some sort of moral victory out there, that we hung with the champs," Rodgers said. "Our defense played well and Pat didn't have a crazy game and Mr. Pfizer, we kind of shut him down a little bit."
Why did Aaron Rodgers call Travis Kelce 'Mr. Pfizer?'
The "Mr. Pfizer" name is a reference to the Pfizer commercials Kelce has appeared in, as he has become a spokesperson for getting flu and COVID-19 vaccine shots at the same time, which medical professionals have advised is safe to do. The commercials appeared during Sunday night's game. Kelce had also partnered with Walgreens in June 2021 to encourage people to get the vaccine.

Meanwhile, Rodgers has been critical of the COVID-19 vaccine and the NFL's policy on it. He caused a firestorm in 2021 with the Green Bay Packers after he said he was immunized, only for it to later be revealed he wasn't vaccinated against the virus when he tested positive for COVID-19 and was forced to miss a game.
McAfee asked what Rodgers and "Mr. Pfizer" talked about on the field. Rodgers said "some things need to be left on the field." McAfee later brought it up again, asking Rodgers how good it felt to get the name out.
"He's doing commercials for Pfizer, so I'm sure he's owning it," Rodgers responded.
When McAfee and co-host A.J. Hawk mentioned Kelce does several other commercials, Rodgers gave some reasoning as to why he mentioned Pfizer.
"I was watching the game, I couldn't hear the commercials," Rodgers said. "But I've seen him on a few of them. Him and Pat (Mahomes) definitely have a lot of commercials."
